When Black Met White

Their relationship began

with forbidden meeting,

secret looks,

stolen kisses,

but the never mixed,

pausing at the fine line

keeping them separate.

They feared mixing,

for individually they were vibrant.

But the distance between the two was constantly growing,

and just before their masses

could no longer touch,

black crossed over.

Around and around

they twirled

in a graceful dance.

So in life they found

that love

is neither black

nor white

but the perfect shade of gray.
